St Laurence’s College proudly hosted the QISSRL CQUniversity Confraternity Rugby League Carnival from Sunday 25 June to Friday 30 June. For many school students and their families across the state, the Confraternity Carnival is the highlight of the year and for the College to play host to this was an honour.
This year, over 54 schools took part in the carnival including 52 boys teams and 12 girls teams. The total number of schools and girls teams involved this year is a record for the Confraternity Carnival.
The ‘Spirit of Confro’ was well and truly engrained into the carnival this year, with each team playing passionately and respectfully. The week culminated with finals on Thursday and Friday and congratulations must go to St Brendan’s College Yeppoon boys team and The Cathedral College Rockhampton girls team on their respective wins.
The week began with St Laurence’s College and Villanova College students attending the Brisbane Broncos Captain’s Run on Saturday 24 June at their Red Hill training facility, where the boys were able to interact with the Broncos players.
